Day 7 of #MeMadeMay and I’ve been focussed on working out how to use a loop turner, through a process of trial and lots of error, so that I can make some progress on the dress I started months ago. I’m hoping these straps will look better once pressed! #sewing #sewingsunday

The Fine Sweater is finally complete! Great pattern by Yu Jie, based on the comic by KC Green. This is definitely the most complicated thing I’ve ever knitted, and I think it took me as long to embroider it and weave in the ends as it did to knit it, but I’m glad I did it. Not recommended for anyone who is a perfectionist, though.

I wasn’t anticipating I’d post as much as I have done for #fiberuary but it’s been really inspiring to see everyone else’s makes and it’s pushed me to share mine too (I will run out next week!). My first ‘texture’ post is this cable cardigan that is from Marie Wallinn’s Gentle pattern book, knitted mainly in the garden through lockdowns. I do wear it a lot but the moths love it too, so I’ve already had to mend it! #knitting @knitting #knittersofmastadon

It’s the last day of #fiberuary colour week - my final colour selection is a baby jumper I made for a friend who was working on a film about Creation Records, so I thought it was only appropriate to recreate Primal Scream’s Screamadelica album cover for her little girl! My absolute favourite bit of colour work.

It’s day 6 of #fiberuary colour week, so I thought I’d share a couple more #shetland wool jumpers (though they’re a bit crumpled, admittedly!). At the front is a short-sleeved jumper from Susan Crawford’s A Stitch in Time vintage knitting book, which got me knitting again after a few years off; at the back is Marie Wallinn’s Bressay pattern from her Shetland book.

Day 4 of #fiberuary colour week so here’s a cardigan I made about 10 years ago. The pattern was released by Fred Perry, as part of Wool Week, but it was withdrawn quickly as it hadn’t been put together by anyone who knew anything about writing knitting patterns - I had to guess the needle size (and I guessed too big, as you can see!) so it ended up in the charity shop, sadly.

Day 3 of #fiberuary and as it’s also #fairislefriday I thought I should share the Marie Wallinn blanket that I knitted a few years ago - fantastic #shetland wool and still one of the biggest things I’ve ever made! Feels like I am posting a lot at the minute, but once the Colour and Texture weeks are over, I will calm down, I promise!

Day 2 of #fiberuary colour week, and another tiny knit from a few years ago. I’m not a big fan of clothing with hearts on, but I made an exception for this Sirdar baby jumper, as I liked the contrast between the flashes of colour and the grey background.
