  1. Am out of sync with ##FairIsleFriday but am not bothered.
The body of this cardie has progressed slowly. When I finish this band of dk red and yellow I'm grafting shoulders. Not decided if I'm first cutting sleeve holes Norwegian method, or knitting sleeves first. Will do one or other this holiday.
Will cut front opening and neckline Norwegian method, following an Arne&Carlos example.
Get to try picking up a lot of stitches for facings.

  2. Second #FiberArtClub #FiberFriday post (I promise to stop in a minute!). Yes, my favourite fabric is wool (again), but this time, knitting wool not woven fabric - specifically, Shetland wool. This is a baby jumper I made for a work colleague, using wool left over from the blanket I shared on Monday #knitting #FairIsleFriday #FiberArtCamp

  3. Fair Isle Friday is a bit early bc I'm busy tomorrow.
Moved to 2 circs to let my knitting sprawl a bit: I was concerned my colourwork tension was too tight as I worked a lot of stitches on 1 needle.
Viewed from the back the tension is improving.

  4. More frogging and knitting again.
Found 1 new mistake in the re-knitted rows: have decided to carry on. I'm sure it's character building or something.

  5. _Sigh._
After careful measuring I've worked out that my Fair Isle piece...is probably too small for the recipient.
So: with much sighing and harrumphing, I've put it on a scrap yarn holder...and started again with a larger CO number.
In theory I can come back to it, ideally for myself, after I finish the bigger jersey.
_Much_ sighing. There's no way to knit 300+ sts per row quickly.

  6. Cast on several hundred stitches for a sweater for a mate. Will do a bit more before confirming the gauge. Despite lots of math I'm worried it's going to be small.
Geez this is slow. Tension is good but it takes a long time to finish 1 round.

  7. Day 3 of #fiberuary and as it’s also #fairislefriday I thought I should share the Marie Wallinn blanket that I knitted a few years ago - fantastic #shetland wool and still one of the biggest things I’ve ever made! Feels like I am posting a lot at the minute, but once the Colour and Texture weeks are over, I will calm down, I promise!

  8. Practice piece for gauge and pattern.
Am going w a different pattern in the end.
Inside view shows the ridge caused by faulty tension when I changed needle sides.

I've cast on the sweater and am in endless ribbing stage.

  9. Wore these for a week and decided they were too short. Frogged the ribbing, added about 6 rows in a new peerie pattern, and ribbed again.
