#MeMadeMay day 15 - Sew Over It pussybow blouse in Frida’s Garden fabric #sewing

#MeMadeMay: Very unusual day because I'm only wearing store-bought (or won) garments. However, I modified the hoodie (possibly 25 years old!) to make a pocket that fits my smartphone, as well as adding the paracord to replace the cord that the garment came with. In terms of most sports clothing, I can get what I want and need very easily, and at a price that works. Winners is 2 blocks away! I started a pair of similar shorts about 3 years ago. They await completion
#The100DayProject added yarn. -
@[email protected] I finished the Devon jeans jacket from @freesewing! The pattern comes from @woutervw.
It's not without faults, you can see I've had to shorten the yoke significantly to fix the shoulder width, and I suspect measuring my height has also not gone completely well—it's a bit on the short side. But I still think it looks great.

A few things going on again today.
#The100DayProject
Made a drawstring bag for my coffee making items when I travel.
#MeMadeMay Back to my Hinterland Dress with my linen Moss Jacket I prefer a lot of repetition in my rotation.
Went for a haircut at the beauty school by bike. New bikeracks are abundant and still being installed.
Gradually packing/sorting items for my upcoming #roadtrip
Going to Drinks For Density tonight. Not sure what to expect but it’s an easy bus ride and there’s #beer -

Multiple activities today:
#MeMadeMay: a repeat of yesterday's outfit with my Moss Jacket added and repaired/shortened leggings underneath
#YegBike Took the 83rd Ave. bikelanes and grabbed coffee & small grocery order. I made what felt like a summer supper: corn on the cob in the #InstantPot, grilled cheese sandwich in the air fryer with veggies.
#The100DayProject: cut out a shorter and smaller pair of Chanterelle Pants out of a gorgeous, gifted Japanese cotton. Directional print! -

#MeMadeMay My default home outfit is this colourful pair of PJs that I made from a scrubs pattern, almost 5 years ago. The contrasting features are all from Okinawa cotton that I purchased 9 years ago, starting me on my #sewing quest.
The flat Ellen combo is what I wore to pick up a grandkid last night. The purple top was tailor-made in Vietnam, based on a store-bought t-shirt I brought with me. The skirt was given to me by a sewing friend. The shorter length and the #pockets are modifications. -
Back to the charity shop single duvets. This one had one side of pineapples on a white background, the other side was 1980s pink white and black bands with stripes of pineapples, ferns & flamingos. The pattern is Kalle shirt from Closet Core. #MeMadeMay #sewing #sewist #Mayke

Some recent #sewing projects for #MeMadeMay #Mayke starting with the Tiany pattern from Fibre Mood #sewist

I needed something simple to stitch, so finally got to add a couple of pseudo-tags to handmade tops. Their only purpose is to help me put them on right the first time, even in the dark. I added a date to one, but embroidery is not fun with sewing thread and needle.
I used tiny bits of leftover fabric from the pretty « organiseur » I made last week. The pattern and fabric kit are from my preferred online source for quilting fabric in Switzerland : Cotton and Color.

I'm having fun using random scraps and remnants of batting to make all of these zipped pockets. I remembered to add a handle to this one, but I also cut into the meat of my hand while making it.
#MeMadeMay
I started out wearing a Dawson Top, paired with a skirt I was given by a quilter. It was cut from a former dress. I hemmed it and added inseam #pockets.
Switched to this Bedrock Tee when I started cleaning, made from thrifted fabric. Costco leggings have pockets.

@jocelyn hi Jocelyn, I know you’ve got about a million tips now, so might be a bit overwhelmed! One thing I found was super-useful for getting to know more #knitting and #sewing friends here was to follow a few events too - great posts on #fiberuary #memademay and #fallfinishalong gave me some more ideas about who would be good to follow. All very seasonal, but I have found some fantastic people as a result, hope that you do too

Nothing MeMade but my socks, today. And nothing mended but said socks. (I don't count taking up the hems on my trousers - that's an alteration.)

I didn't feel like brushing my hair this morning.
Sprang cap to the rescue! -

Look at what I'm wearing out of the house today!

Aw. I want to do #MeMadeMay cause #SlowFashion is #SolarPunk, but I don't have any clothes I've made anymore. :( Everything I have is #Thrifted since I lost weight. Last time I went shopping for fabric I got #StickerShock. It's should *not* be cheaper to source fabric from already made clothes.

@kamikat @sewing I was wondering if #memademay was a thing over here too? I really enjoyed #fiberuary (which I think came from Instagram too?), would love to see everyone’s makes in the feed here in May
