Finally finished these socks. They were my second backup project so only pulled out when I couldn't do the first two. I reaquainted myself with cabling, discovered how annoying cable needles could be on, say, a crowded train, but then learned how to cable without a needle. Yay!
Also reaquainted myself with how much I don't enjoy magic loop knitting so went back to a set of dpns for the second sock. And so the second sock is about two sizes larger which no one but me (and you) will ever know.
The pattern is on Ravelry called Slippery Slope Socks

I love the pattern, it is well written - much better than I tend to expect from a free pattern, especially with features like these cables! This beanie will be a birthday present (to be gifted at the day of posting, to someone not on pixelfed, so I don't worry about that person seeing this too early). The yarn is Drops Fiesta in the color natural. #knitting #cableknitting #cables

@knitting Does anyone have experience with a cabled adult garment in (partially) plantbased yarn? I'm willing to do a dense gauge but I'm afraid it will stretch overtime. (My brain/skin doesn't tolerate wool even superwash merino so that's not an option) Any inside it is welcome! (There are commercial calbe sweaters out of cotton so it should be possible?) #knitting #cableknitting
