Here's something really useful I've found.
One of the great things about the Fediverse is being able to follow hashtags.
But.
If someone puts up a post using that hashtag, and no-one on your instance follows that person or anyone who shares it, it won't appear in your feed.
This is particularly common if you're on a small or single-user instance.
Here's the solution.
First, follow @_followback
It will follow you back.
And then tags.pub bot then reshare all of your posts that use hashtags.
So if you do a post with the hashtag #Fediverse, then @fediverse will share your post.
Here's where the magic happens.
The tags.pub bot will do the same thing to everyone else who follows that followback account.
So if you follow @fediverse, then you'll get a feed of everyone who uses #Fediverse on the Fediverse.
And you'll see their posts even if no-one on your instance follows them.
And it works for all hashtags.
Just put the name of the hashtag, followed by @tags.pub
So @tech follows all posts using #tech, for example.
Or @news follows all posts using #news

Ostatnio obserwuję epidemię tootków po polsku, ale z zaznaczonym językiem angielskim.
Co może być powodem?
Jakiś serwer albo popularna apka ma "domyślnie" angielski? Albo weszła jakaś "autodetekcja" która się myli?
IMO warto o to zadbać, kliknąć gdzie trzeba, ustawić sobie. Bo sporo osób filtruje treści po języku. No i niech będzie porządek, a nie bałagan 😉

#PROTIP for the weekend:
if you go to your Notifications tab and click the arrows icon at the top right you can expand options and disable notifications for boosts and likes
this way you can stop staring at your own posts with that fish-looking face while you read them over and over every time someone new boosts or favorites them...
you will be saving a lot of time, congratulations 🎉

Pamiętajcie proszę drogie osoby fedisiowe, że wszystkie spory i dyskusje, mają na celu uczynienie #Fediwersum lepszym 👍 💪
Różne osoby mają odmienne wizje "lepszego" fedi, stąd ta "wojna idei" 😜
Nikt nie namawia do zmiany instancji, by zrobić na złość administracji, tylko by na nowym serwerze osobom migrującym było lepiej.
Zmiana serwera jest też chlebem powszednim w fedi. Nawet umowa serwerów mastodona wymaga jedynie, by przed zamknięciem dać czas na migrację. Nie wymaga obietnicy "działania do końca świata".
No i pamiętajmy, że większość serwerów jest prowadzona wolontariacko. To nie jest biznes i "wojna o klientów".

Jest jakiś prosty sposób na przeniesienie instancji fedi (w tym przypadku Sharkey) na jakiś inny silnik pod tą samą subdomeną? Chciałbym też spróbować odświeżyć starą subdomenę (fedi.ametic.ovh) ale miałem już tam kiedyś postawione Sharkey które popsułem #fedipomoc #feditipspl

If you haven't already created a filter for posts that contain the #USpol and/or #trump hashtags (and/or your personal triggers) then you are missing out on a little peace and quiet. Set your filters to put those posts behind a #ContentWarning so YOU get to decide if you have the spoons, the curiosity, or the willpower to see them at the time. It's an easy way to show yourself some love!
