One time I competed in a #taekwondo tournament in a nearby area. I was scheduled to face another 1st degree blackbelt but after I won the poomse round, they replaced her with a 3rd degree instructor who kicked at my face so hard, my hand bone broke when I blocked with my gloved hand. Head shots are supposed to be point kicks only (light) in these "friendly" competitions. I got a plate there now. Judging competitions is much better and helps the kids stay safe.
