Finally found the time to play around with #FlatcarLinux. Setup a bare metal node just with Docker, after that a single #k3s node (including auto updates). Nice!
But the base system just with Docker running seems to gobble up quite a lot of RAM (~700 MB) in comparison to my tiny ArchLinux based host. Needs some investigation, could be a show-stopper for my small #Homelab hosts. 🤔

The #Kubernetes story & that of #Flatcar are inextricably linked. Flatcar's roots go back to 2013 when CoreOS was launched, and its etcd became the basis of Kubernetes distributed data model. Flatcar took off from CoreOS and today most Flatcar deployments are with Kubernetes.
