  8. Last week I went to my local LUG because they had Bruce Dubbs in town of Linux From Scratch.
    The experience was a delightful blast from the past join a room of 40+ local nerds out to talk nerdy.

    Plus, I have used LFS a preferred teaching and learning tool for years for getting your hands dirty on the whole stack, and it's relationship across itself.

  9. It seems the issue I'm seeing is when you have the default "emerald" theme on widescreen (or maybe external) display. It shows up correctly on a tiny 4:3 display

  12. Travelled this week to with my () Frankenstein.
    I've done other small trips, but this was a lot more situations.
    This is my favorite machine. It is such a comfortable piece of trash. Parts of this machine are 15yrs old, but then cobbled together from various broken machines. Then in the past couple years, I got the drop-in modded board from out of China. Now a 32Gb with nvme drives, it is a total sleeper. Luckily found a decent battery. avg 7-8hrs.

  15. @SvenDowideit Ah yeah! This wholly works. I've mulled on updating the display from the 1024x768 original... but it's endearing. I got a battery that gets 7-8hrs. I take this one everywhere.
    I've thought about the the x2100. Sounds like Jacky at has more in stock currently ;-)

  16. There is a lot of neat stuff about this platform, but already I'm sad to see that they are scraping other platforms and appear to be relicensing the content to CC0.
    Their discord is full of discussion where they debate whether that's even legal.

    So, I'll be avoiding OpenBeta for now.

    Even if there are paid features, it seems mountainproject.com is the active community.
