If you are attending this year's @distribits end of October¹ and you want to be dressed 'appropriately' 😉, last year I organised that hellotux.com offers :gitannex: #gitAnnex² and :datalad: #dataLad³ shirts, sweaters. Now also backpacks 🎒 and towels can be ordered.
I ordered several items and the quality is good. Properly stitched logos that never wash off. They are a small family business that uses and supports #FOSS.

Completed my first personal technology upgrade after this year's #distribits: new phone running #grapheneos
Needing new hardware was annoying (it appears nothing in the past 5 years has made devices truly better).
But the software makes up for it! Smooth installation, polished feel. For the first time in forever, I feel like the phone OS is on my side, rather than taking me hostage for commercial exploitation. A feeling that, so far, only my #debian machines could provide.
Thanks!

Just pitched #nixos and #nix to someone at #distribits2025 #distribits and they were very interested.
I guess we soon will have another person in our community 😈🔥 😆

In 1h at 09:35 CEST I am live @distribits, talking about how I use :gitannex: #gitAnnex in my #PhD and my attempts to #gitAnnexAllTheThings:
-
Do you have big data to share in a forge? Try #forgejoaneksajo! It's an active soft fork of @forgejo, adding git-annex support.
@matrss gave a nice talk about it on @distribits, which you can watch there. Thank you!https://www.distribits.live/talks/2025/risse-forgejo-aneksajo-a-git-annex-datalad-forge/
PS: I wish #GinGNode (gin.g-node.org) will update to this at some point in the future! It goes one step further, adding DOIs to datasets/code.

Here's the English re-recording of my workshop kickoff talk about @[email protected] 's :gitannex: Git Annex, an awesome tool to sync, manage and archive files based on git.
The original talk was in German and I got requests to translate it to English, so here it is! 🥳
I also mention @datalad and @distribits at the end. 😃
