Hey, look! Someone reported a bug about this!
*checks notes*
It was me. Over 18 months ago 😐

Butterfried Gnocchi "all'amatriciana". That was the dinner I made for me and my better half this evening.
Had two interviews today, one to help Kill Parkinsson, which is a charity and the other one is a potential new employment that sounds quite exciting.... we'll see!
Other than that I'm researching and preparing to move my main computer over to #OpenSUSE if possible. -

After 10 years I'm leaving #openSUSE and their enterprise products for good.
They should drop the "open"-Part in the Name.
They are the tipping point for all of them forcing weird age verifications and restrictions, denying an unmoderated access to computers.
The heavy use of proprietary code and now the ban of Younger is unacceptable.
fuck you!

I didn’t want to believe this. But wath is wrong with #OpenSuse these days?
Forbidding young children from learning about their Linux distribution is just mean.
I learnt about Linux while I was in Junior High, I got to play with RedHat Linux back in those days and that’s when I started liking computers. Mostly thanks to Linux
Why prevent children from this?

Who the hell at #OpenSuse thought it would be a good idea to ban anyone younger than 16?!
https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/[email protected]/message/6PU6JU2IGKDANYNN3KIXDR2UQSVP6JI2/Indeed it still says so in the Terms of Site. Nobody below the age of 16 can legally browse opensuse.org.
https://en.opensuse.org/Terms_of_siteWhat is this absurdity?

Apparently it's not Gnome 50. It's Loupe. Or more specifically, Loupe forcing "Dark Mode" when I'm in "Light Mode (With CSS Overrides To Replace The Bright White With Mid Grey)".
GTK Inspector seems to indicate that the button is using a semi-transparent background colour (because of course "deal with the interaction between a widget and the colour of the background behind it" is a thing that you'd want to do?!) and so it's not playing nicely with mid-grey.
Looks like I'm spending more time fixing CSS again. Which I needed to do anyway, because Gimp 3 is already doing a whole bunch of janky stuff.
It's not even like I want much. Flat themes are a bit crap and trend-following, but I can live with it. Gnome now has accent colours, which is great. All I want is dark title bars and #cccccc window backgrounds (a bit like when openSUSE had the Sonar theme in 11.4) so that the whole desktop isn't eye-searingly bright (or that odd cream colour that they went through for a while)

OpenSUSE Tumbleweed atualiza sistema com kernel 7.0 e GNOME 50

@Canageek Part of the issue is when people say #openSUSE, it's not particularly descriptive. They could be talking about #Leap, or #Tumbleweed, #MicroOS, or even some other variants, like #Aeon or #Kalpa, none of which have to really be in agreement with each other, for something to exist within the larger project, or ship them.

Efter at have set @Eg0nJN anbefale OpenSUSE, så får den sgu et skud nu med GNOME Dekstop på en backup laptop.
Hvis jeg er tilfreds med det, så skifter jeg Fedora ud med det. -
Ah, Tumbleweed, you always treat me so good.

Lol, not one week have lasted the Nvidia drivers in #opensuse #tumbleweed before an update ended up in a black screen after login. I manage to fix it (it seems dracut -f did the trick, forcing the modules to be loaded?) but I'll keep an eye on this.
Didn't tumbleweed had like automatic snapshots? I have to check that.

Good question. I actually went to an #AppleStore a couple days ago and decided I'm not going to spend $700 plus tax right now for a 512 GB #Neo. My #Linux laptop has an old #OpenSuse on it and I'm dreading going through the process of deciding on a distribution, reformatting, installing, etc, but I will someday... The last time I did that was during the pandemic and I wrote about it here: https://www.ii.com/choosing-linux-distribution/
