You can't make this s*** up:
Monday: Microsoft silently replaces the #PowerAutomate cloud flow designer with a "new" version. Everybody hates it, nothing fits on a screen anymore, performance is awful on bigger flows.
Wednesday: Microsoft reverts things back to the new designer that GA'd in Nov 2023 and still had issues compared to the classic one.
All because they're hell-bent on making flows a child feature of Copilot Studio as Agent Flows.

2025 was a wild year for Microsoft in many ways. This was my favorite product naming episode:
Agent Builder* in Microsoft 365 Copilot
(*formerly known as Copilot Studio lite**)
(**formerly known as Agent Builder)As always, it has been erased from MS websites, so here's one pic for the archives.📸

One more Microsoft licensing change for 2025!🥳 This time, the use of Dataverse MCP Server for agentic scenarios outside Copilot Studio gets new license requirements. Developers especially are gonna love this: https://licensing.guide/dataverse-mcp-server-licensing-requirements/

So, you've built a Copilot Studio agent and told it very specifically what it must NEVER DO in the instructions?
Well, it's not gonna care about those instructions of yours. Oh, and it WILL tell the user about its instructions if they ask nicely.😏 #CopilotStudio

Markdown is now supported on OneDrive and SharePoint:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/onedriveblog/introducing-markdown-support-in-sharepoint-and-onedrive/4512174As expected, nothing fancy yet (no Mermaid support, for instance). I really hope MS keeps working on this and doesn't just settle for a "ticked the box" version. We shall see.

For more info on the Dataverse storage entitlement increase for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales Premium, check out my blog post on The Licensing Guide:
https://licensing.guide/dataverse-capacity-perks-with-dynamics-365-sales-premium/ -
Microsoft made a small tweak to the Dataverse default capacity for a single license type: Dynamics 365 Sales Premium.
The good news is: you can buy just one Premium seat and gain $640/mo worth of more storage capacity for your #Dynamics365 Sales Enterprise users!
Even if you just use #PowerApps, this one seat will boost tenant-level database quota from 20 GB -> 45 GB. For $150, it's cheaper than buying 4 GB add-on #Dataverse DB licenses.

Are you using Power Platform Dataflows still? I was, too, but it's time to figure out an alternative instead of wishing they'd ever become governable, nor support proper ALM. Another dead feature in Microsoft's evergreen cloud: https://www.perspectives.plus/p/i-see-dead-features-dataflows
-
I've been telling people Power Platform Dataflows is a dead feature for 3 years at least. The Power BI blog now confirms that any non-Fabric Dataflow is in Legacy mode.
The Gen2 Fabric Dataflow doesn't even support Dataverse as a target.🙄 Not that the Power Apps portal would surface the new version anyway. So, it's not officially "legacy" - just dead.

We moved the logic of our FinModeler financial modeling app, built in #PowerApps, to use the new Dataverse SDK for Python.
It used to take ~10 minutes to generate the full Excel workbooks with dynamic formulas. Now, the same output takes a few seconds.🤯
Yeah, using Office Scripts and Excel as the engine originally was a bit crazy. But it was the #lowcode way for us #PowerPlatform folks. Now, with #Dataverse, #Python and some Azure Functions, we're on another level.💪

I can't recall seeing Microsoft product teams mess up the Dataverse table settings this badly before. What they've managed to do with the latest Microsoft Planner update is a cautionary tale of how a small code change (by an AI agent?) can wreak havoc:

You can now check how much #Dataverse storage capacity different Power Platform and Dynamics 365 licenses give you, using this Dataverse Capacity Calculator I created:

Here's how the Dataverse database capacity increases, based on whether you have Power Platform, Dynamics 365 CRM or Dynamics 365 ERP licenses as the "top" SKU.
As a reminder, #Dataverse add-on capacity is expensive AF. $40/GB, per month. So, #Dynamics365 CRM customers now get $9,600/y worth of new GBs. With #PowerApps or #PowerAutomate premium, you get half of that. With ERP - well, you're already paying a fortune for D365 FinOps anyway.😜
-
For once, Microsoft is giving you more capacity without a price increase!🥳 The December 2025 update for #Dataverse default storage capacity raised my quota from #Dynamics365 licenses by 20 GB.
Read all about it in The Licensing Guide blog:

My #PowerPlatform bookmarklet now copies not just the Dataverse table columns and types into your clipboard, but also the choice column (picklist) values. These are traditionally tedious to get from the #PowerApps maker portal. Now, you get them from #Dataverse with one click on a bookmark:

Imagine the kind of tricks #Nvidia would have to pull to meet the growth targets jusifying its market valuation. Because to even make it in 2025, they've already had to do circular financing to fund AI customers who lack capital. We're reaching #Enron level already.

Looks like this could be the end of Power Platform CoE Starter Kit updates. March 2026 update never arrived. We all knew this moment was coming eventually as Microsoft's priorities shifted away from low-code platform governance tooling and into all things AI instead.

Accessing the code behind Power Automate cloud flows is too damn hard. So I created a bookmarklet that helps you grab the flow JSON.
Now you can paste it to your favorite AI low-coding tool and ask it to review the logic. Click "Copy JSON" for full code, "Copy for AI" if you want to save tokens.
Do this:
1) Drag the button to your browser favorites.
2) Get GUID of your #PowerAutomate flow.
3) Open model-driven #PowerApps
4) Click bookmarklet, enter the GUID
5) Profit! -

2 weeks into 2026, Microsoft finally made a blog post about the Power Apps per app licenses end of sale.
I chose not to believe what the post said and decided to record a live video of me trying to purchase a real Power Apps license on Jan 15th:

Bading down the street, smokin' saunas
Sippin' on gin & juice
Laid back 🎶Friday night in the #Helsinki city center, stepping out from a steaming hot sauna out into the backstreet of a shopping center. It's +1C and I'm standing there in my Speedos, drinking a cold Kyrö gin drink to cool down, while the tourists walk by in their full winter gear. 😛
What better way to wind down during the holidays than visiting the Kyrö Distillery Company pop-up sauna & bar in Helsinki. #Kyrö #Ginandjuice #sauna
