When Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork needs to create an Excel file, it uses LibreOffice - not Excel.😏
The actual process seems to be: Claude agent calls openpyxl (Python library) to generate the file. Then, the headless soffice of LibreOffice is used to validate the output. Finally, the user is shown a file in Excel for the web.
It makes perfect sense, given how Anthropic built Cowork and Microsoft just licensed it from them.

These days, the true YOLO option is allowing Windows to automatically deploy updates on your PC without checking for issues reported by the community. I learned that lesson a few months ago when my work PC was destroyed by a "vibe update" MS released. Now, my GenAI tools provide a defense layer.
Yes, I realize these LLMs can also wreck my setup. But at least now everything that happens is logged to my Nextcloud as .md files for helping to restore the PC if needed.

Yeah, it's tricky.😅 Microsoft's own materials are either out of date or too tiny to zoom into.🧐 So, I took their latst materials and created my own comparison slide.

Microsoft will refuse to take "no" for an answer when prompting you to set Edge as the default browser. "Set later" is a dark UX pattern that rejects the user autonomy.
You can't just wait for MS to figure out they're being a dick. You have to edit the registry to disable the nagging right here and now:
