No way I ever tip in the US when I've had to line up to order, or in any retail setting. Also I don't understand the suggestion of 20% tips, when rising prices would ensure a 15% tip is bigger over time anyway. It is getting out of control.

I used to give cash tips upon delivery, but the problem now is that Instacart and similar services display whether a tip has been included or not. Because of this, if I forget to add a tip, there’s a chance no one will want to take my order. The corporations are definitely driving the tipping culture here.

No, Walmart home delivery — unlike shipping or store pickup — is typically gig work, similar to services like Instacart or DoorDash. A gig worker is a random person using their own car, who picks up your order from the store and delivers it to your home.
Tipping culture is out of control in the United States, especially when it comes to gig work. While the company does pay the person who accepts the order, the unfortunate reality is that your tip — or lack of one — can directly impact your experience.
