  1. While adventuring in nature (best done with @mrcourtney), I love the moments when we run into something man made. It’s a good reminder that every landscape has been touched by man. (Even Native tribes altered the landscape.)

This is a partially quarried stone, with the tool used to split the stone still in place.

  2. Fence decor on Georgetown Neighborhood. I've looked at it and though those plastic and metal parts niggle at my memory I can't place them. I thought the white bits might be stapler tops, but no...does anyone know?

  3. It's lily of the valley time in the yard. Still doing great after having to thin a bunch of it back to tend to other things in that area.

  12. The existing osprey nest here was completely wiped out by the winter storms so they're working on rebuilding it from scratch.

Though (2nd photo), the osprey seem to have had some trouble getting started. Or they just ended up with a lot of extra pieces.

  13. I see it's #PortfolioDay... I'm a photographer who takes pictures as I wander around nature in southern New England and on hikes through dramatic landscapes further afield when I get the chance. I like to do most of the work when taking a photograph and use a light touch afterwards so as to retain a more natural feel to a photograph.

I sell prints of my work in-person at local art events around Rhode Island and on my website.

  14. CW: bug (praying mantis)

Went to rake some fallen sticks off the lawn before the season's final mow and discovered one stick was actually our friendly neighborhood praying mantis. Relocated her to a nearby bush where she could safely judge my yard-working skills.
