Got an email from #Postman, which I haven't used in years, marketing it as an "AI-native" platform and inviting me to try for free for 90 days.
No thanks 👍🏻

Uhmm remove LUKS or encrypted boot? That doesn't sound good 🤷🏻♀️ #Ubuntu #Linux #grub2

I just found out that #Google drive integration is no more into #Gnome. Sadly, the libgdata maintainer threw the towel a few years ago and is no longer shipped with Gnome. Very unfortunate, I remember I paid an Insync license ages ago because I needed this integration.
Unfortunately my knowledge of that codebase is zero but I wish someone would take over. Perhaps writing a small plugin for myself in #Vala?

I just picked a pair of these for Bugs and Lola from #Petco the other day and they drip terribly, thought I might have gotten some faulty ones but then I went to their website to check the reviews and oh boy...
It's been a long time since I purchased something with so many bad reviews and they all complain about the same; the bottles end up empty even without the animals sucking off from them.
Yet they still have them for sale...

So basically move off of both #Bitbucket and #Heroku, I just haven't had the time since all I have there are personal non-important projects and a friend's POS system which is the only one I really care about. It will also be a good opportunity to migrate said project from #RubyOnRails 7.x to 8.x.

I definitely need to move off of #Bitbucket...
#Atlassian has only "enshitiffied" the product over the years. I'm glad I don't work in corporate anymore and don't have to use, or even worse, setup #JIRA

My "new" RTX 3060 just came in, this is probably the last upgrade I do to my main desktop PC before it gets decommissioned and I get a Framework PC next year. For now this will suffice. It's a TI XC model with 8GB in a two slot config because I have a mini ITX board. I've got it refurbished because new cards for older models are crazy expensive 🫰🏻

Third day in #Guanajuato. Went to have lunch with my dad today. You'll see these kinds of rustic homes all over the place. The restaurant we went to used to be in fact a hacienda a long time ago.
BTW I still have to fix his home WiFi. The new router just arrived today, I will probably be the IT guy tomorrow. Walls are so thick that the signal gets lost easily. This is one of the disadvantages of colonial buildings; they're beautiful architecturally speaking but don't play well with #WiFi.

Today I'm working #remote which actually means not in my home office. Spending this week in Guanajuato at my dad's. Thought I'd get some natural vitamin D, weather is fantastic.

I'm in the process of #renovating and restyling my place, rugs, paint, #decoration etc.
I purchased a set of posters from #Etsy to frame them and hang them in my man's cave where I already have others from topics of my interest or special occasions like concerts signed posters and such.
But this time I wanted to do something different; have portraits or drawings of people I consider revolutionized the world, especially around my area so I've got these:

Here's my #PhotoMonday Took it last weekend on my way back from my hometown to #Tijuana
What you see in the photo is the dry lake known as "Laguna Salada" just before you climb the "Rumorosa", part of the Baja sierra mountains.
Interesting fact: This part of the road is 10m below sea level which makes it one of the hottest places in the world up to 52°C recorded during summer. After you drive up for 15 mins you'll be 1200m above sea level with temperatures well under 0°C over winter.

I'll start the morning today with some tea instead of ☕, hands on code now. Have a lot to do but want to take some time during the week to try out the most recent alpha version of #Tuple for Linux. We'll see how well it works for me under #Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (yes, I'm a boring rails dev who doesn't use Arch or #Omarchy)

So I had a ton of articles pending to read in getpocket and never exported them out, sadly I lost them. I was looking for native replacements for my Kindle Fire 8 since it had a native pocket app and there was none. Amazon app store is mediocre so I ended up installing the Google Play Store and installed #Instapaper. So far, so good!
You'd think me, being a software engineer would be thrilled to be tinkering with my devices but far from it; nowadays I just want things to work.

Another shot of #Tijuana's development. This is an elevated road being built to maximize efficiency and help mitigate the current traffic and bottlenecks. Opinions are mixed of course based on both political and technical perspectives. Either way, the city continues to develop for an ever-growing population and with the current state of affairs, those numbers will just keep on growing...
That is #Tijuana, a city with many shades of personality, some good, some bad, nonetheless my home.

Am I the only solo-developer using #Bitbucket for personal projects?...
Atlassian updates keep getting worse. Complicated flows and UI all over the place 🥲
Maybe it's time to move to #GitHub and give my hard earned $20 bucks a month to someone else. Thinking on #GitLab as well but all the cool kids® are using GitHub right?
