Two responses to what you just said: The Jedi bit about attachments arose in the prequels, years after #RotJ.
The real problem is the sequels. A few decades later & the 1st Order has nearly destroyed the New Republic. This is necessary to make the Resistance scrappy underdogs fighting an impossible uphill battle. It's baked into the formulaic narratives.

Talking about #AltText & lengthy, detailed descriptions of images always makes me think of “Cathedral,” by #RaymondCarver. I saw/heard him read it in person in college. Thus I acquired the expression, “Now we’re cooking with gas.” lol
A sighted man draws a cathedral for a blind one, while the latter holds his hand to visualize the lines as the pen moves.
Great story, anyway.
