  3. What better sweet for 'Tabi-no-hi' than Mikuraya's (御倉屋 ) 'tabiyakko' (旅奴). The name means 'to accompany on a trip', referring to the long line of attendants that would accompany daimyō to and from Edo.

    'Tabiyakko' (旅奴) are halfway between a firm cake and a crumbly cookie, flavoured with a light muscovado sugar (famously produced in Hateruma 波照間島, Okinawa)🙌😋

  4. Of all the places in Kyōto with connections to Bashō, 'Rakushisha' (落柿舎 the 'Hut of the Fallen Persimmons') is the easiest to visit.

    His experiences and poetry would be immortalized in 'Oku-no-Hosomichi' (奥の細道 'The Narrow Road to the Deep North'.
