  1. Trying to write a horror encounter between a young woman and a carniverous embodied mycelial network, but I'm realising that it's just a horny vore fantasy for prey kinksters.

  2. First draft of the Queen's Waterman complete. Started on Jan 11, finished on Feb 28. 75k so far. Will need a lot of rework.
Now I need to finish the "final" editing pass of Delay of Game.
I don't think I can juggle three novels at once, and not-Mike is very demanding.

  3. Over 71k. I'm nearing the end. At some point soon, more than kissing will happen. I really hope I have enough plot to make it to 80k and, if not, at least enough plot + inserting other bits of magic into the story to reach 80k. And if not, enough plot + magic bits + details to make it to 80k. And if not... #WritingIsHard

  4. I've been staring at the last three words for an hour, trying to figure out what comes next. #WritingIsHard

  5. Can you hear it? My internal screaming is breaking the barriers of reality! I'm deep into writing this next chapter, wondering what in the world am I doing, how did I get here, and should I scarp it (and possibly a chunk of a previous chapter) to smooth things over? Sometimes this writing thing is a pain (aside from the constant depression of not having enough people read the work I already have out there). Anyway...

  6. Is writing hard for me, and has it always been hard for me?

    Yes... and also, no.

The wildly talented Leslye Penelope and I discuss in a recent episode of her podcast, My Imaginary Friends.

  7. Been writing a writing style guide for my new job.

I've got The Economist Style Guide, guardian style, and frequent internet searches on the go to help me shape the points and preferences I'm trying to make so that we can edit our comms and content consistently.

It's over 3000 words long so far, and yet still shorter than the last one I encountered from Oracle.

  8. Adventures in package documentation:

Is it the world's longest vignette or the world's shortest book?

  9. TFW you're struggling getting a story to work. 😒
So you finally employ Dan Harmon's "Story Circle" to fix it, and wind up with (quite possibly) the BEST story you've ever come up with. That! 😊
Now time to re-write most of the dialog... 🤦‍♂️

  10. December means my brain is impatiently waiting for me to edit from NaNoWriMo, but my soul is outraged that I'm not taking all of December off in the wake of NaNoWriMo. I'm in a battle of wanting to accomplish more and needing a rest.

Sometimes it's difficult to tell when I need a real break versus when I'm just being a wimp cause writing is hard.
