  1. I am yet again in a work situation where having more focus on statistical mathematics and analysis would have been a way more useful part of my mathematical and science education during the ages of 16-18.

  2. A US company is buying Goonhilly, here in .

Unsure how I feel about a US company buying an infrastructure company like that, in today's geopolitical climate.

Kinda seems like a bad idea for the UK.

  3. Not gonna lie, I didn't think I'd ever start a sub with a comic book shop, but the new Daredevil run has got me popping by each month now to pick up the latest issue.

I've not got anything approaching a pull list. (Yet.)

But I'm on a first name basis with the owner, and I think that might be because I'm one of the few women that tends to stop by.

    Anyway I like comics, again.

Been a while. Still not bringing back Graphic Novel Group, but I'm reading for fun again.

  4. Ah, I see () has decided to introduce a feature that no one wants/reduce the viability of a feature that's been baked in for over a decade.

Actual Tumblr users are less than pleased.

I feel like each owner of Tumblr fails to understand what its user base wants. I certainly can't see how the latest move will help them gain paying subscribers or more advertisers.

Certainly the change destroys social proof on the platform.

  5. Kiddo and I have been really getting into the lately.

Started with a very beautiful pop up book we bought her, the request we find some more books, borrowing some regular books from the library... And we're onto watching the odd episode of Moominvalley.

Many of the concepts are a bit big for her yet, but she asks questions and is deeply invested in the wellbeing and happiness of the main Moomin Family.

Would like to get her copies of the story collections at some point, (in English).

  6. The Reddit Snoosletter for Reddit mods this month is, uh, a shadow of its former self.

I have a feeling that admin have given up on building a sense of community with mods.

  7. But the council is not directly asking second home owners who have gutted communities to help with this nor banning Airbnb. Hm 🤔

  8. More news and entertainment news websites should set up RSS feeds. And then clearly label them on their site.

There's been a drop in using them for written content since Google Reader was culled, but they're a great way to distribute content without relying on the whims of social media platforms.

Just now, I went to see if FANGORIA has an RSS and it does not from what I can see.
