  1. Spent some time working with Weylus to connect my iPad to my Linux laptop to act as a drawing tablet. It works really well!

I do need better wifi though - screen updates on the tablet in Krita or Inkscape or whatever are fairly laggy - usable but laggy. I know my wifi maxes out at around 14 Mbps in that room (thick stone walls, down the hall) so work to do re: an AP if I want to do artwork in that room. It's where the TV is located so absent minded doodling is a thing...

I'll try it in my office in the other building tomorrow. It should be better with a wifi AP in the same room.

Amazingly, as a non-video drawing tablet there is no real lag though. Maybe using it a bit more will make latency more apparent.

  2. Ohh, there is #weylus a #sidecar like tool for #Linux but much more complicated to setup.

  3. Episode 250 of The Linux Lugcast Podcast is out – The Linux Tiredcast

This episode we talk about using your Samsung Gear VR in 2024, Apache’s name and logo change drama, haunted computers, a Linux application that lets you use your tablet as a touch and drawing interface for your PC, vertical tabs in Firefox, hacking the Kindle to use as a second monitor, and the 2020 straight to streaming movie “Virtual Death Match”.

  4. I fucking love #Weylus

I already loved it for using my iPad as a 'drawing' tablet (as if I knew how to draw lmao ;-;) and stuff, but now I found yet another use for it

It’s also perfect* for using as a big monitor on #VR!

    * Well it would be better if Oculus #Quest browser let me resize fullscreen windows freely (and freely position them too), or if Weylus could be resized without like disorting the image and stuff when not on fullscreen. Still great tho!

  5. Does anyone around here have any experience of using #Weylus to connect an #android tablet to a #linux desktop to use it as a graphics tablet with #krita ? I can mirror the computer screen to the tablet no problem. I can use the mouse to draw on the computer screen no problem but when I try to use the stylus to draw on the tablet it just moves the "paper" instead.

  6. github.com/H-M-H/Weylus turn any phone or tablet to graphical planchet . works cool with . test on my . nice and written in

  7. Weylus, github.com/H-M-H/Weylus.

Weylus turns your tablet or smart phone into a graphic tablet/touch screen for your computer.

    • Control your mouse with your tablet
    • Mirror your screen to your tablet
    • Send keyboard input using physical keyboards
    • Hardware accelerated video encoding

It works on Linux, macOS and Windows.
