I want a mod for Discord that puts different users in a voice call into different locations in a virtual room, so you can tell people apart by aural position.

If you are using Discord on an Arch Linux and have some screen sharing issues, I recommend Vesktop.

I'm married now, so I no longer need it but previously I've been using #Discord for years every single day (this half of the point, is still true) to stream video + audio with my partner so we could eat and watch stuff tgt.
The biggest change when we fully migrated to #Linux over ~2 years ago (I think) was the fact that we needed to rely on custom Discord clients like #Vesktop to have screenshare with audio working. When it was announced late last year that Discord had taken over control of the previously community-maintained Discord #Flatpak, I was delighted bcos it's a step in the right direction.
Now, after what seemed like forever of not knowing if the day would ever come - Discord has finally added complete screenshare with audio support on Linux (on #Wayland)!!! :ablobfoxbongohyper: It's NOT on the Stable release yet, but it is currently available as part of their Canary release on #Flathub Beta repo.

No link to the FAQ, I actually didn't find it. If you search the issues for "logout" there is only two issues, this one and something related to KDE. Very nice team #vesktop -

Wanted to write a Vencord plugin that allows instant mic mute when non-whitelisted people join the VC, or disconnecting when blocked users join the VC. The prerequisites section though...

So I can't develop a plugin for Vencord if I refuse to use VSCode as my code editor? Real smooth with a lack of proper API documentation.

So, here's the issues she ran into in no particular order:
- Heavy tearing in games (resolved by setting "Force Composition Pipeline" in NVIDIA settings)
- Discord screen sharing doesn't support audio on Linux (worked around by using Vesktop)
- Slightly degraded performance in VRChat desktop mode
- Initial confusions about the directory structureThat's about it.

@Taskerland I wish it was possible to me to, I hate the whole functionality of discord. Meanwhile using #vesktop with plugins, to make the pain as little as possible to keep track with some servers.

This #discord-screenaudio bug is still ongoing over a month later. It's a blessing however because I've discovered another custom #Discord client on #Linux that is FAR better than this one and I've been very happily using it for a month now called, #Vesktop.
Vesktop too is a Discord client that brings screensharing with audio on Linux, with some important differences with discord-screenaudio (DS, for short) with my use case:
- When streaming, besides allowing you to choose from which application it should share audio from, it also allows you to choose which application it should share video of. DS only supports the former, and only shares the entire screen which is not only not ideal for privacy but bad for performance. +1 also for Vesktop for making the UI/UX pretty much exactly the same as the native Discord client on #Windows so users familiar with this feature should feel right at home.
- Vesktop is just more reliable, at least when you have more than 1 capture device. I've 2 capture devices - 1 for my mirrorless camera used as a webcam, and another for capturing my #SteamDeck and #NintendoSwitch to my PC. On DS, my camera feed would not default to my actual camera (it defaults to the Deck/Switch capture card instead) and there's no way to switch between them easily as you would on the native client WITHOUT doing a little dance (detach and reattach my capture card). On Vesktop, it behaves exactly as it would on the native client and it defaults to my actual camera properly, and I can also switch between the capture cards very easily.
- DS has extremely limited configuration options, a lot of settings found in the native client such as hardware acceleration are not available to be enabled/disabled. Vesktop has all this covered, again, like the native client.
TLDR; All in all, for your streaming with audio on Discord needs on Linux, please use Vesktop. Because of these reasons, Vesktop is not only usable for me for streaming alone - but I'm perfectly able to use it as a complete replacement to the native Linux Discord client. It is widely available through #Flathub as a #Flatpak, and it should also be available natively on your distro (#AUR for #ArchLinux).
