You have multiple options for voting, showing dissatisfaction with options, and acting within shitty, restrictive systems.
A “spoiled ballot” is one where you make all the effort to go vote, but intentionally make your ballot uncountable.
Why?
Because if you don’t vote or even register, then you’re basically invisible. Instead, you send back a piece of paper that makes clear “I could have submitted a valid vote for one of you, but you all suck so I need you to know that I think none of you should be in power. Re run the election and do better.”When you write-in a candidate with no write-in option, or for someone not running or alive.
Or you purposefully deface the ballot, select an invalid number or combination of answers.Otherwise: you just do not comply with the instructions; intentionally render the ballot unreadable for vote-counting purposes.
