  1. There are many forms of democracy that have to, by definition, be an experiment. Representation has had its day.
I don't need professional politicians; I need an accountable civil service.
    I don't need lobbyists; I need choice.
    I don't need representation; I need a place.
I don't need to be told; I need to be heard.
I don't need divisive tribal politics.
What I need is a fully staffed, well trained, truly independent civil service, guided by peoples assemblies, guided by experience. We can have #Unityindiversity.
"I" can't speak for "others" but "we" can agree, if not we can have a dialogue, there is a way through this and many of the the 99% are experimenting with options. Others are waking up every day and joining the conversation. Many of them are taking action. I am grateful.

  3. "Work" like so many things, which need to stop, in modernity is measured/valued wrongly. It is measured by tax you pay or profit you make therefore adding to the growth(extraction) economy. An aspect of a domination system. I believe we need to replace this with partnership culture and one which recognises and rewards work which develops and maintains a thriving, not just surviving, society.

  5. Unity
A direction or colour of politics causes more division. I realise it is naive to not "talk about politics," but we can talk about it differently in the sense we can not add to that division.
If a conversation subject causes friction, that's ok. It's how we learn and, more importantly, how we learn to think. If that friction is painful, it needs to be examined in a way that supports & develops individual and community growth.
Some people find that investigation of painful experience/emotion at a particular point in life is too difficult. That's OK. It does not mean I agree with the expression of that learning or pain. It may come to a point where I can't be with that person due to that expression.
Acceptance is not agreement. Healing has to begin with recognition.

  7. Here's my thinking the following hashtags are the cornerstone of most if not all political ideologies, practices & theories. I understand some "act" more than others & the systems of domination control all our action. But when we choose a label we add to the divisive politics of the mess we're in.
So I am not a socialist, communist, anarchist, liberal, conservative, left, right or middling, I am a human being who advocates whenever & however I can (I know I don't do enough) for #UnityInDiversity #univeraleducation #universalparticipation #universalequality #universalJustice
For me it's not about politics it's about being human.

  9. Representation is being undermined by capitalistic greed & as such has failed #WeThePeoples. We need participative democracy. We certainly don't need divisive/adversarial party politics.
Any process of Consultation has to be underpinned by #universalequity #universalJustice #unversaleducation these things on a planetary scale, for all not just the nation state. The goal is consultation has to be at least consensual (preferably unanimous) & have as its aim #unityindiversity

We have to hold on to the commons whilst focusing on cosmolocalism as a step towards system change on a global scale.
Big tech is enclosing the planetary commons as governments have done to their populations and land. We are not their population we are humans and we share this land with all life not resources.

  16. Ubuntu is a term that originated in southern Africa to mean the sense of community with others. In the Novasutras movement, we have expanded this definition to include the broader connections between all things, binding together the more-than-human world. It incorporates our duty as conscious humans to participate in this community with reverence, joy, generosity, gratitude, and loving-kindness.

  18. What does the UN Secretary-General actually do? 🌍

They are more than a global figure — they are the voice of diplomacy, the bridge between nations, and a key leader in tackling the world’s biggest challenges.

From peace and security to climate action and human rights, their role helps shape the direction of our shared future.

And yet… since 1945, there has never been a woman in this position.

Representation matters. Leadership matters. Change is overdue.

  20. “Globalised economic development has cut like a knife through our human relationships and through our connections to the living world. Rural communities and smaller towns have been destroyed, as people have been forced to seek employment in urban centres. This, in turn, has led to mass immigration. It has also led to increased time pressures, with people running faster and faster in an ever more competitive economy."byronmagazine.com/news/helena-

  25. Fight injustice, not people.
The people aren’t the problem — the problem is the problem. Try to approach conflict by solving the problem rather than attacking or blaming others.

Representative democracy that's what. As described in this thread we need participative direct democracy, built possibly on cosmolocalism, sortition and people's assemblies. There are frameworks available.
None of them will work whilst the myth of national sovereignty is the trump card (no pun intended). We need planetary citizenship underpinned by #UnityInDiversity #univeraleducation #universalparticipation #universalequality #universaljustice
