As a member of The Left Group, I stood up against the EU's militaristic policy that claims to keep us safe but actually increases geopolitical tensions and harms our security. We need a different approach, one that focuses on conflict resolution, collective security, and diplomacy, not more weapons and military spending. Here are some concrete proposals:
1. Increase investment in diplomacy and conflict resolution to prevent wars and address the root causes of conflicts.
2. Implement arms control and disarmament measures to reduce the threat of weapons and promote a safer world.
3. Strengthen the European Peace Facility to support peace-building and conflict resolution efforts.
