  1. @rmblaber1956 @ChrisMayLA6 @HarriettMB There are many forms of democracy that have to, by definition, be an experiment. Representation has had its day.
I don't need professional politicians; I need an accountable civil service.
    I don't need lobbyists; I need choice.
    I don't need representation; I need a place.
I don't need to be told; I need to be heard.
I don't need divisive tribal politics.
What I need is a fully staffed, well trained, truly independent civil service, guided by peoples assemblies, guided by experience. We can have #Unityindiversity.
"I" can't speak for "others" but "we" can agree, if not we can have a dialogue, there is a way through this and many of the the 99% are experimenting with options. Others are waking up every day and joining the conversation. Many of them are taking action. I am grateful.

  3. I have said this before but I believe its worth repeating (probably again and again)...
Let us all stand for #Unityindiversity on a planetary scale, beyond national sovereignty. A now outmoded model of governance & the main barrier to rule of international law. #universaleducation #universalequality #planetaryjustice will develop only when #patriarchalcapitalism and domination systems are replaced with partnership.
Put simply I believe patriotism i.e. pride & connection to the land you choose as yours is good. Nationalism is not the same thing. Why because #Sovereignty is a #myth & barrier to rule of law. States, nations, regions can exist without it & can be #autonomous.

We have to hold on to the commons whilst focusing on cosmolocalism as a step towards system change on a global scale.
Big tech is enclosing the planetary commons as governments have done to their populations and land. We are not their population we are humans and we share this land with all life not resources.

  9. As I have said on numerous occasions represententative democracy as an experiment has had its day. The present rise of extremism illustrates this to my mind.
The majority of humans are more than capable of representing themselves. So I hope we will learn from history and try another democratic process involving #universaleducation
    #universalequality
#universalparticipation would be a step in the right direction.

  14. “Globalised economic development has cut like a knife through our human relationships and through our connections to the living world. Rural communities and smaller towns have been destroyed, as people have been forced to seek employment in urban centres. This, in turn, has led to mass immigration. It has also led to increased time pressures, with people running faster and faster in an ever more competitive economy."byronmagazine.com/news/helena-

Without a #universaleducation, we will not achieve full human capacity, including #universalequality or #universaljustice
Paulo Freire called it "bank education." The state makes a deposit and then later makes a withdrawal, i.e. tax or canon fodder. Another domination system that needs to be replaced with partnership.

  16. @ChrisMayLA6 Echoes of the past can be heard in the problems of the present. The revolutionary notion of democracy was put on hiatus in 1787, and the coup of the oligarchs continues to this day. riverasun.com/oligarchy-as-ame
#WeThePeoples need to stop history repeating itself & learn from it. #Justice #universalequality #universaleducation #UnityInDiversity planetisation is the only future for these things. #patriarchalcapitalism has to end as part of that process.
A possible way forward, no professional politicians, a well trained, accountable, and properly staffed civil service. #Cosmolocalism through peoples assemblies, sortition. To my mind, that is #participativedemocracy
The representative democracy experiment needs to end.

  17. @LetsRoc
The military around the world uses a large majority of the fossil fuel extracted from it. We can tackle the eco crisis only when the wars end. Wars will only end when #statesovereignty ends or is very much reduced.

  18. Fascism doesn’t summon hate. It grooms despair. It identifies the wound, and then it infects it. By the time the hunt begins, the scapegoat already believes he’s the shepherd.
This is the point of hierarchy and why patriarchalcapitalism has been the domination system for so long.
Gaslighting like scapegoating is a tool/ weapon of the domination adversarial hierarchical systems. I believe we need to develop partnership working and encourage cosmolocalism. #universalequality #universaleducation

  21. Humans have set themselves apart from the universe. We are not really in control as we think. We're denying and working hard at them. We are distracting ourselves.
In doing so, we procede to traumatise our species and the ecology of which we are a part.
We/I/you have choices we/you/I have decisions to make, and like the adolescents we are, we're afraid of the consequences, but we can face them together through trust & acceptance.

  23. It's interesting that politicisation of language causes division. I'm thinking of the term mutual aid, a term coined by Peter Kropotkin in 1902. admittedly, he used it to support anarchist philosophy.
My point is that many of his historical arguments supporting mutual aid also support later work of Indra Adnan & Joanna Macy, to name only two.
Essentially, it could be called cooperation. A key point is it needs to be voluntary as opposed to coercive cooperation (not sure the those two can go together, but you get my point).
Before tooting this I searched Kropotkin & mutual in order to post as a reply, I then realised I would be adding to division. So I will stick with my preferred hashtags; #universalequality #universaleducation #Unityindiversity.

  24. A direction or colour of politics or religion can cause more division. I realise it is naive to not "talk about politics," but we can talk about it differently in the sense we can not add to that division.
If a conversation subject causes friction, that's ok. It's how we learn and, more importantly, how we learn to think. If that friction is painful, it needs to be examined in a way that supports & develops individual and community growth.
Some people find that investigation of painful experience/emotion at a particular point in life is too difficult. That's OK. It does not mean I agree with the expression of that learning or pain. It may come to a point where I can't be with that person due to that expression.
Acceptance is not agreement. Healing has to begin with recognition.

  26. @ChrisMayLA6
We can call it politics. We can call it economics, and we could call it sovereignty.
I call it #patriarchalcapitalism it's adapting it's how it has survived for so long. They are becoming like each other for a reason.
    Whilst commentary is important for education & awareness raising purposes. The real questions, too many to list have to be;
    how can we stop it?
What are the alternatives available now?
How can I contribute to raising awareness of them?
Can I be part of their development?

So, I believe we are creating alternative partnership frameworks.
We can, in fact, have to act locally. This has always been at the root of cultural and societal transformation and change.
The challenge for humanity, therefore, for each one of us, at this liminal point in history, is to share/think on a planetary scale.

  32. In an article by Dr. Ravindra Kumar an Gandhian education, the views that Gandhi expressed in his writings can be summed-up as follows:

    The prime aim of education is to make a person self-dependent;

The purpose of education is to make one efficient and skillful; and

The objective of education is to guide and lead a person to the pathway of progress, so that one can achieve a goal in life for oneself on the one hand and contribute to the society, nation and the globe on the other.

  33. A Compassion Circle is a space in any community where people can come together to cultivate their compassion as well as talk about any issues they may be facing in living a life that’s based on compassionate values.

Being able to do this as a group can be really powerful. Practicing with others helps create a feeling of support as well as offering the chance to troubleshoot and share concerns or struggles. By creating your own Circle, you’ll be helping to plant the seeds of compassionate living right in your community.

  34. The notion of world government is anathema to most political theorists. This is the case due to the arguments that a world government is infeasible, undesirable and unnecessary. This three-fold argument is partly predicated on the assumption that in world politics the larger a geographical and political entity is, the greater the chance of it becoming  unstable, ungovernable and, ultimately, illegitimate. On the one hand, if this assumption is correct, then a world government is likely to be illegitimate. On the other hand, if the assumption is wrong, then it is not far-fetched to consider a world government to be legitimate.
Considering a world government that emerges from a global social contract, this paper contends that:
the legitimacy or illegitimacy of a world government and the extent to which it is legitimate or illegitimate depends on the kind of social contract that produces it and the extent to which it fulfils or fails to fulfil the conditions of the social contract.

Another passed and exacerbated boundary for the sake of corporate greed. We all know AI uses massive amounts of energy which governments (that is taxpayers & bill payers) subsidise.

Will the public benefits be shared equitably? I think not. As for human centric how relational will be the program be, Will it have bias? of course it will. I for one am not buying into this.

More adversarial politics will and does not help the majority of which I am part, much less the planet of which we are all a part.

Lets just slow down, or even how radical is this, stop, and assess/review before blundering on. After all this is normal in every other form of planning I am aware of. Oh yes it's not planned, silly me it's driven. Driven by profit not people elected or otherwise.

A government "shutdown" an example of the failure of representative democracy. We are witnessing the unravelling, globally, of domination systems. The majority of us are already developing what could come next.   The challenge is identifying how we can work together we can then exit our silos, organisational & individual, and work together in developing a new ecological (planetary)
civilisation. It will happen, we can influence how it comes about through #unityindiversity & planetary citizenship.
