We, the majority, have never in modern political history had democracy i.e. government by the people. Participative democracy has to be the next experimental democracy, or maybe we are to late for that.
I can only hope and continue to talk because that has always been how the narrative develops.

There are many forms of democracy that have to, by definition, be an experiment. Representation has had its day.
I don't need professional politicians; I need an accountable civil service.
I don't need lobbyists; I need choice.
I don't need representation; I need a place.
I don't need to be told; I need to be heard.
I don't need divisive tribal politics.
What I need is a fully staffed, well trained, truly independent civil service, guided by peoples assemblies, guided by experience. We can have #Unityindiversity.
"I" can't speak for "others" but "we" can agree, if not we can have a dialogue, there is a way through this and many of the the 99% are experimenting with options. Others are waking up every day and joining the conversation. Many of them are taking action. I am grateful.

I recommend reading the chapter entitled, 'The History they Didn’t Teach you At School’ in Jeremy Lent’s new book Ecocivilization. It portrays just some of the tragedies caused by the wealth creation addiction of predatory capitalism, from the enclosure of the Commons in Europe, to the looting of colonies, through to the debtbased system of neoliberalism. It is heart-breaking.

Representative democracy experiment which needs to end.

We can call it politics. We can call it economics, and we could call it sovereignty.
I call it #patriarchalcapitalism it's adapting it's how it has survived for so long. They are becoming like each other for a reason.
Whilst commentary is important for education & awareness raising purposes. The real questions, too many to list have to be;
how can we stop it?
What are the alternatives available now?
How can I contribute to raising awareness of them?
Can I be part of their development?

So, I believe we are creating alternative partnership frameworks.
We can, in fact, have to act locally. This has always been at the root of cultural and societal transformation and change.
The challenge for humanity, therefore, for each one of us, at this liminal point in history, is to share/think on a planetary scale.

A comment on the events in Iran (and around the world)
If I might be so bold, I have friends who fled Iran after the revolution. It may be the Iranian people arising as such an example of people power, community and localism.
I sadly do not see it as a part of the civilisational transformation taking place, but more a symptom of the unravelling systems of domination. Like so much of the unraveling I am saddened by what I see but also emboldened to learn and if possible act.
I hope a #cosmolocalism will arise as part of the outcome.
