A great idea to have pill testing at Tweed Heads that Qlders can use. Practical and preventive action - the best of public health - could save kids’ lives, could lead to many grateful parents; also provide data for better preventive public health action in future. The old #Australia was not built for cars. You could go by train from #Brisbane to #TweedHeads from 1903 to 1964 (South Coast railway line, Queensland). Now you can't. But a motorway has been built, and widened, and widened again. In every old Australian town you will find the old walkable core: a pub, a square, a cafe, an ANZAC memorial or a street shaded by old trees, or a museum with a photo of an electric tram or trolley bus that used to go there...

Dozens of native #birds found poisoned and beaten around #TweedHeads high school
“The shocking discoveries of dozens of dead or injured native birds — including an endangered species — around a northern NSW high #school have sparked an investigation amid suspicions they were deliberately poisoned and beaten. As many as 50 birds have been found dead or dying around Kingscliff High School, in the state’s Northern Rivers region, since the end of December. An endangered #BushStoneCurlew chick is believed to be among the dead birds found. Many of the birds also had fractured spines or other broken bones consistent with being hit by a stick or club.”
