#GoodNews that the Little Penguin population around Granite Island is holding (though still with really low numbers (18) of nesting pairs). This is in spite of the forever ongoing Algal Bloom / Infestation.
The best bit of info is what these guys do to maintain privacy :)

So today I learned something about #Trailcams. I set the new one up aimed at our pond, and in testing it today, it would only trigger when I was right up in front of it. So I leveled it and aimed it straight out, and it picked me up at about 75' away.
I guess they have a sweet spot for the longer range detection I did not know about.
WiFi/bluetooth capability is a game changer. I can check the #camera for new images from inside my house by a window that aims at the camera, or anywhere outside.

I am going to check this later. So far momma bird shows up and immediately flies away. Camera about 4' away, need to determine if she is getting scared off by the cam.

One #animal we see a lot of on the #trailcams is this #Marten, especially at night. Here, it was caught rummaging around the #trees behind the #compost bin.
