  2. Hey, Booze Mastodon friends - got a question for ya: I’m testing out an old tiki drink for our Burning Man tiki party called the Polynesian Paralysis (it’s a rare tiki drink with bourbon!). Anyone made it, and what can i do to zazz it up a bit? it’s too sweet, i think, so i’m gonna leave out the Simple Syrup, but… ??? 3. Cool, interesting, and thoughtful piece on decolonizing tiki-drink culture: eater.com/2019/10/7/20895319/t

There was a strong element of appropriation in it from the beginning, but it *can* be excised, and tiki culture will be better for it. (Personally, I think that might involve a renaming, which I hope will happen organically.)
