Hand carved and painted on a wooden memorial of this age inside the cathedral. I find the different number sizes fascinating. The small 1 for 1000. The large 6 for 600, the smaller 3 and smallest 1 for the digit. As if they were trying to highlight the most differentiating numbers for a year-date. One 1 changes too slowly, the other too fast.
