Pics from today’s boat ride from Kennebunk, ME. We were 15 miles / 2 hours out to sea. 4.5 hour ride. We saw no whales, but plenty of petrels, shearwaters, gannets, and terns. Also a Sunfish

I could not resist another trip out into Lyme Bay this morning aboard 'Kelly's Hero' and am I glad I went. As well as good views of Manx and Balearic Shearwater, at one point there were eight - EIGHT - European Storm Petrel near the boat. Utterly fantastic!!! A sight that will stay with me for a long time.

These rapid declines were mirrored in @team_ebird data when looking at numbers of #stormpetrel seen per observation event, suggesting that it is not just the colonies on King George Island that have declined.
