Overview The City of Mount Carmel is a notable smaller city located within and the county seat of Wabash County, Illinois, directly opposite the mouth of the White River of Indiana and associated with the corridors of Routes 1 (north-south) and 15 (east-west). Today, the community is notable for the Convergence of the White and Wabash Rivers, the River’s Edge Bar and Grill facing the mouth of the White River, the Beall-Orr House, and the Wabash County Museum District.

Today, the community is home to a traditional downtown area including Breidert Green Park, the Loft Frankfort restaurant, an Italian restaurant at Francesca’s Fortunato, and the Frankfort Area Historical Society. Overall, the suburban community is most directly associated with the junction of Routes 30 and 45.
