I also got a new case for the cables and things I use along with my SP404 mk2 and it's truly wonderful. Now I have two things I can easily grab and I have everything I need to start messing around with ideas. This is useful for the times when my usual space in the house isn't available.

Using the basic sounds and smearing them into oblivion with effects like Cloud Delay is really fun and something I could listen to all day. I might just use that as a basis for an ambient noise type of release.

Played around with the Sound Generator on my SP404 mk2 for the first time the other day. Lots of fun. I can definitely see lots of sound possibilities by starting with the basic sounds and then layering them with effects and getting into things like chromatic mode.

Based on what I have seen about the new Looper I might just leave it on and available all the time. I don't often use the skipback feature to capture stuff from what I was doing previously, so it might be more useful to use the Looper for creating stuff.
But, it is easy to swap back and forth between them. So, I don't have to worry too much really as long as I remember it loses whatever is in the buffer when switching between them.#experimentalmusic #electronicmusic #musicproduction #musodon #sp404mk2

Outside of the Looper functionality I'm really excited to play around with the sound generator capabilities in the latest update for the SP404 mk2. Once I get the update done I really want to dive into using it to generate all of the sounds I use for a track and see how far I can take things with creating stuff on the SP404 mk2 by itself and getting out of my DAW.

I'm really excited to try out the new features in version 4.04 for my SP404 mk2. The Looper and Sound Generator look amazing and I can see how they could be used in experimental practices and not just beat making.
I just want to finish one more project and get a remix done before I update the software. Usually I am an early adopter when it comes to software updates. I often just do the updates and live with the consequences, if there are any.

Plugging the laptop into my SP404 mk2 as a sound source for creating samples feels like a great companion to my keyboard I have for a piano sound. It could even provide a backing track if I want, but having it to build samples with has lots of fun possibilities in my mind.

I’ve been taking it slow to start the year as far as creative projects go. I’m thinking a fun way to start the year would be to create a drum kit of custom samples to use in my songs. A set I can keep on my SP404 mk2 all the time to have ready to use in projects.

I just submitted my track for consideration to the next #Bonkwave compilation. I don't normally like to leave things to the last minute, but with a sick kiddo at home it takes some creativity to make the time for working on creative projects.
In some ways it made the track what it is since I didn't have a ton of time to work on it and had to wait until later in the evening.
But, I did stick with the approach I was talking about before and opened an empty project on my SP404 mk2 and only used samples that were on the SD card.
