Four consecutive, stupidly-long days of heavy and demanding #brewery labour means that I am #rewarding myself with a hot bath (it’s Winter where I am) loaded with Epsom Salt. There’s also 3.75g of medicated brownie and Ibuprofen helping me to unwind along with some of our Whale Played Red IPA.
Friends, this week has been ridiculously challenging. I really wish I had time to work on my #BonkWave or #NotBonkWave #FSOBW track.

@harriehq Yes! I’m trying to explore some complicated feelings by composing a short #jazz #BonkWave (or #NotBonkWave) piece.
I have no experience composing, or writing jazz and feel very much a fraud for trying to do this. I can hear it in my mind, but the flow state of creativity has yet to happen.
It may be that it is one of those moments where I have to “enjoy doing it badly” just to scratch the itch, call it done and try again later.
We’ll see what results…

More #BitwigStudio #Reverb explorations. My All-Pass reverb was almost adequate, but not quite as smooth as I wanted. I found another YT channel where there were some nice examples of how to populate the Wet Tank with all sorts of other stock devices (or 3rd party) to achieve some truly spectacular results.#AS-Reverberator is getting an overhaul. I seem to have not bothered to share this the wider community (other than having the v1.0 preset added to my Seal Eggs preset for "fog").
The preset page on my website is being updated in stages as time permits. I hope you'll check it out.
In short, this is a lovely exploration of what is possible with Bitwig stock devices only. The FX Tank is packed with goodies - EQ, Pitch Shift for Shimmer, Chorus and Blur and a delicate bit of gain stage for endlessssssssss reverbbbbbbb...

#bonkwave (an actual bonkwave toot this time 😅 ) or perhaps more likely #notbonkwave, i'm not sure... also. perhaps #jazz
here is my new composition, i made it this morning,
it's called 'paino sketches - capybara' because it totally wasn't a typo and was painful to make and listen to hahahaha also i'm not exactly happy with it, it's short, naive, lacks variation, doesn't really say anything or tell a story... but it is what it is..

I've been thinking about drums and how Reason has the option of instrument lanes, and can this be done in Bitwig Studio?
Editing programmed drums can be aided by having a note lane for each voice.
Today's solution is to use a Group Track to hold the Drum Machine and a Note FX Layer to route Instrument Tracks into the Group Track. This feels like a good way to continue. This will hopefully find its way into my next #FSOBW track
