#PlatformEngineering sits at the intersection of infrastructure, developer experience & product delivery.
Scaling Technical Excellence isn’t about more tools - it’s about embedding #DevOps principles - ownership, fast feedback loops, and psychological safety - directly into the developer workflow.

#Reliability is an emergent property - like latency & durability.
Chasing a "root cause" is counterproductive. Understanding what went RIGHT is often key to building a resilient system.
Learn about how systems actually work - and how they fail.

#MicroFrontends reflect how modern organisations build software!
They signal a shift from:
🔹 Centralized Control ⇨ Distributed Ownership
🔹 Significant Releases ⇨ Continuous Flow
🔹 Rigid Architectures ⇨ Evolutionary ChangeBy migrating iteratively, you can modernise your frontend without slowing innovation.

Code that drifts and projects that fail often aren’t technical failures - they’re organizational ones.
Introducing #HolisticEngineering ⇨ the practice of designing technology by understanding and shaping all the intrinsic parts of the organic system.
A holistic approach views projects as Organic #SocioTechnicalSystems, influenced by:
⇨ External forces: world events, tech trends, market shifts
⇨ Internal forces: organization, product, people, engineeringRead the #InfoQ article by Vanessa Formicola to learn how to master this approach: https://bit.ly/43Ed7O1

#DomainDrivenDesign (DDD) elevates sociotechnical design.
Change Smuggling offers a pathway: launch small, safe-to-fail probes to nudge change organically.

1. which team has the best knowledge of this concept?
2. which team works on features most related to this?
3. which team's cognitive load will be impacted the most by this?
4. which team will be incentivized to build the best implementation?
5. which team works closest with the relevant domain experts?
This isn't the only important aspect, but it is an important one.

Thanks to everyone who made last night's #dddLondon event a great experience.
Thanks to Schroders for hosting the event in their amazing offices, and thanks to our two excellent speakers @bitboss and Yevgen Nebesov 🇺🇦.
There was a good mix of practical advice, ideas to challenge your thinking, and memes.

I'm actively working on a side project where I want to capture my experience as a software engineer/architect and engineer leader.
Why?
Because something is missing in our industry for those, like myself, that are generalists looking for the big picture.
I don't think the current tooling helps people that need to look at the product from the big picture or 4000m high view.
Most of them help to look at team level. There's a lot of tooling, with different approaches, for teams but very few for leaders or software engineers that need to look at the system as a whole.
And I'm not talking about microservices, I'm talking about everything else that we need to take into account in our day to day decision making but we _lack the proper tooling for fast feedback loops_.
I want to make informed decisions and know the impact of them ASAP. I'm tired of seeing the outcome of very critical decisions months later, we should be operating on faster feedback loops.
Our teammates and organization deserve learning faster on those decisions that impact them as they put their trust and effort in us.
