If you struggle to leave FB due to friends, may I suggest deleting the crap-filled phone app, then on PC use Firefox to read FB while using the extension combo of Social Fixer (block sponsored posts, politics, keywords, etc.), uBlock Origin (block ads), & Facebook Container (makes it harder for FB to track you).

Not perfect, but it'll help restrict the oncoming crapnami & minimise Suckerbergs data grab a bit.

I knew #Facebook was terrible, but it wasn't until I used #SocialFixer to hide the suggested posts that I had proof of one of my pet peeves. 11 "suggested" posts between two I'm actually interested in. Yes, definitely, burying the content I'm interested in in a sea of garbage is going to keep me engaged. *facepalm*

@RalfHermes Nun, das Bezahlabo entfernt nur die Werbung, aber die Datenerfassung für den Algorithmus bleibt. Ich nutze auf dem Rechner #socialfixer, was mir einen Großteil der Kontrolle über meine Timeline zurückgibt. Leider nicht bei der mobilen Nutzung. Eine Alternative wäre etwa auch #Friendica für das #Fediverse. Allerdings ist da die Nutzergröße bisher noch geringer als bei #Mastodon, so dass sich das Thema „Blase“ potenziert. Schöner wäre es natürlich.
