Thought jumping out at this point in Teri K's thread
Equality (fairness / due process) have always been at odds with freedom ("negative freedom" as in "freedom from" - the urge to have the government leave one TF alone.
This is our historical foundation: the attempt to merge equality and freedom. It's a delicate balance in reality.
Lovely, when it works. But it takes all of us.

Meanwhile, here are tips I wrote in 2017 about how to spot propaganda techniques. I'll probably update them, but they still work!
Propaganda, including disinformation, works by pumping your emotions. Seeing it breaks the cycle, hopefully.
Emotions are cool to acknowledge, but my oh my, we don't need to react upon them. We can kiss them on their heads, and shuttle them out of our way.
