#shareonmastodon — Public Fediverse posts

@haraldschirmer @mein_blog Posting von Beiträgen aus WordPress zu Mastodon geht ganz gut. #activitypub und #ShareOnMastodon laufen bei mir ganz gut. Lediglich mit Interaktionen habe ich so meine Probleme.
Zusätzlich landen crawling Zugriffe aus dem #Fediverse auffällig oft auf 404. Die passenden Einstellungen in den Plugins habe ich noch nicht gefunden.

One of WordPress’ block editor’s “nastiest” quirks is how it deals with “classic” meta boxes, including the Custom Fields panel.

It’s why in my ActivityPub add-on plugin, I had to “delay” federation to a later hook (than transition_post_status [and use a static variable to temporarily store the new and old post statuses], but only when rather specific conditions are met).

Anyhoo, I literally wrote about this countless times, and still occasionally get it wrong.

Looks like #ShareOnMastodon also reposted old #Wordpress posts from 2010 when I edited them. This actually wasn't intended, but I'll leave it at that, given the favs. ;-)

#ActivityPub posts only appear on the #fediverse to those who follow your #wordpress instance account.

Additional plugins, such as #ShareOnMastodon and #shareonpixelfed which share your wordpress posts to your personal :fedi: accounts do not work (show no signs of continued development (?))

While #mastodonautopost doesn’t seem to support featured images or consistent link card display.

I’m battling frustration myself.

#Wordpress question relating to three :fedi: plugins:

#ActivityPub
(Makes WP its own federated instance)
✅Successfully instantiates Wordpress.
❌Fails to create posts on the newly federated account.

#ShareOnMastodon
(Posts to existing #Mastodon account)
❌ Fails to create posts on linked account.

#ShareOnPixelfed
(Posts to existing #Pixelfed account)
✅ Successfully creates posts on linked account.

Anyone else having issues?
Any solution recommendations?
