While Jews are demanded to condemn Israeli violence, these reports of Israeli violence are never accompanied by calls to not attack or discriminate against Jews or "Zionists" domestically.
In other words, these reports about Israel, even when factual, are not neutral. They serve as the backdrop and justification of violence towards Jews, and their association with violence, their presence, and their unwillingness to explicitly condemn both violence and discrimination shows that these news reports are not "just reporting the news", they are deliberately flaming violence.
We see that these reports as shared online are not universal, they are selective and disproportionate.
They focus on Jewish actions with a magnifying glass and are used to attack our existence around the world.
I condemn the settler violence in the West Bank, but I take no responsibility for it, but I do blame those who inflame antisemitism for their participation in ongoing hate.

Unless one is directly connected with the conflict by being Israeli or Palestinian, I must question the motivations of those who make such posts, not because of the posts, but in a larger context.
There are lynchings in the United States as we speak, literal lynchings of Black people in the United States in 2026, and yet we see and hear virtually nothing about that.
There is mass violence in Columbia, we hear virtually nothing about that.
There were 30,000 Iranians killed by their own government. We hear virtually nothing about that.
Yet every event in Israel is covered extensively and graphically, all while the presence of such violence is used to justify antisemitic violence in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia, including physical violence, discrimination and psychological abuse.

Here's the thing about reports of settler violence in the West Bank.
Of course I don't support it. I find it disgusting and repulsive. The analogies to the way Jews have been terrorized (and continue to be terrorized) are obvious and clear.
With that said, there are reasons I've chosen not to post about it. Posting about it in this social media atmosphere, as I've seen from my own and other Jews' posts, does not create a feeling of solidarity or reduce the antisemitic tensions. It only serves as fuel to the antisemite, "Even the Jew admits..." or worse, strengthens the demand of Jews to "account for" the actions of Israel on demand- a demand that is by its nature antisemitic. No one should be held to account for another, nor should it be socially acceptable to demand one swear their allegiances on demand.
As for non-Jews who post about it, I have concerns about their motivations as well.
