I finished #RuleOfRose on my phone with #BSPD9. There is an investigation that I need to do (it is about themes that are not my lane), but it is quite good.
As you might have guessed, despite my better judgment, I’m continuing to play horror games. Unless something goes wrong, the subtheme for the month is dogs (I cheated a little and moved a game from last month). At least 2 more are ready to go, and there are ways to stretch it: after all, children and dragons are types of dogs, aren’t they?

I know numbers are just numbers and they increase, but I find it obscene that my phone can run a #PS2 game at three times the resolution.

When did Rule of Rose get so expensive?
I remember a couple yeara ago a representative of Atlus said something on twitter about a future remaster for the Switch. I hope it is real.

Oh boy, 1,000 characters is not enough to talk about this one. But I will try to keep things brief.
#RuleOfRose on #PS2 is a wild, intriguing ride with a few pinch points that require some patience to get through. And at the end of it all, you might feel a little flat, like you missed something, and you probably did.
There is nothing light in this game, with its overarching theme of bullying, amongst a few other things. The game sparked moral panic in the UK based on speculation and rumour of the games contents. It is a nasty, uncomfortable roller coaster to be sure. The pre-title cinematic gives a pretty solid indication of what you are in for.
I didn't dislike the game, but the combat is quite wonky, and the pace can feel glacial, making wider exploration of the game's chapters quite tedious.
It's all grim, and many will probably not want to know how it ends, but for those who are interested. Well, this rose is thorns all the way down.

So, I started playing #RuleOfRose today.
The pre-game opening cinematic had me asking myself what the Heck have I got myself in for?!
So far, the game has been very unsettling, not necessarily scary, I can see why it has the reputation it has.
The combat seems a little wonky in places, and the exploration is a little frustrating.But I haven't been this intrigued by a story in a long time. Just what on earth is going on?!

What is the crown jewel of your game collection? Mine is my mint condition, CIB copy of Rule of Rose for the PS2. It's a pretty good game I bought when it came out, as I basically bought anything Atlus came out with at the time. Definitely wouldn't pay the going price for it now, though, but it does make for a neat conversation piece.
