I must say, if the intention in showing #PyramidsOfMars in between the final episodes of the last series of #DoctorWho (as part of the fun #iPlayer series, #TalesOfTheTARDIS) was to highlight how far the quality of the storytelling has dropped off since 1975, then job done!

The production values are DIRE; this was the 10th Anniversary special – where was the budget?! The monsters... and those sets!

@qlp RTD has a _theory_ (and he's good at saying those just as a fan) that the bigeneration rippled all through the timeline.
So the Curator could be a bigenerated 4 who woke up at the bottom of a model of Jodrell Bank and grew to get old. Same with the old Doctors in #TalesOfTheTardis.
It's bonkers but allows any old Doctor to show up in any spin off at any time, without having to justify it. Or even have a spin off dedicated to one old Doctor (e.g. 8?!)

Just watched another #TalesOfTheTardis on iPlayer.
The Three Doctors edit is fantastic, especially the bookends at the start and finish with Jo and Clyde. Really heartfelt stuff!

the Peter Davison era. It's a dark and gritty tale that makes good use of the Cybermen, and gives Adric the best companion exit he could have had. I love the idea that the space freighter he is trapped on is the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs, as it places the Doctor on the backfoot and means Adric is a fixed point that he can't change. #DoctorWho #TalesOfTheTARDIS

The #BBC planned to celebrate the 60th anniversary of #DoctorWho with the creation of an online archive of over 800 episodes. The network has now confirmed a new series, #TalesoftheTARDIS, that will launch alongside the new #Whoniverse website.
