Just use something like #rofimoji and you're good to go 😎

Got #gnome setup this weekend. Giving it #Forge a shot which is a new, simple tilling window manager:

I've tried material-shell before but it didn't work well for me for whatever reason and Forge while more simple feels more stable.

For further customization I used #wmctrl which allows more scripting options and for drop down terminal I used #trdrop. For system control I can't get away from brilliant #rofi and it's ecosystem (#rofimoji, #greenclip).

#rofimoji is pretty neat to insert emojis, imho 😸
(the styling of the app is just my love for ugliness, it can look nicer though 😂)

Glaube das habe ich auch nie hinbekommen. Darum ist bei mir Emoji Auswahl -> speichert in clipboard (xclip) -> und dann einfach paste in #micro. Und dann kann ich es auch da pasten, wo ich moechte. Ist eigentlich super angenehm so.

Super! Freut mich das es klappt. Waere jetzt auch komisch, da ich genau dasselbe Font installiert habe.

Benoetigt also #rofi und kenne derzeit keinen komfortableren Weg auf der Kommandozeile. Aber das erwaehnte espanso klingt interessant. Spaeter mal suchen....

I can see a bunch of broken emojis but I guess, I need to update my installed fonts....

No autocompletion as such, but #rofimoji is at least imho the fastest way to insert Emojis via #cli
- keybinding to launch it
- search
- enter to copy
- pasting at the wished place 😎

Who's saying a fancy, mouse driven (🙄) run/start- menu is neccessary?
And same goes to the not less important #emoji picker 😅

I modified the #Rofi theme file from distrotube.com "a bit" more to my styling.
Rofi will snap on the left side centered of the screen, takes 350x650 pixels and will show the results vertically oriented.

Did I mentioned before how #rofimoji became one of my most started applications....even though I didn't even knew before that I needed such a tool at all 😆

Yes finally I got #rofimoji to work. But I must admit it only worked after I pulled the latest release and build from scratch. And now I am able to insert emojis when writing/replying toots inside #tut 🥳
Only thing missing is the direct insertion. For the moment I have to go one extra step though and copy the selected emoji via xclip. Only then I can paste it. But I've already seen a package that can handle that too. So excited!!! Emojis!!! 🤓

Help needed: I have downloaded #rofimoji a while ago and don't get it to work. Instructions are unclear to me. Does somebody know what to do with the file rofimoji-4.3.0-py3-none-any.whl?
