  2. I just discovered that you can parent a mesh with an armature object with type "Armature".

    The skinned mesh will work as if there is an Armature modifiers ... even if there is no modifier.

    Is that something commonly used?

  4. Here are fondation of the future of animation in Blender.
    I will read it carefully, and come back to devs (in August?) with feedback.
    My long journey as rigger and as glTF I/O can help

    I also want to be sure that glTF animation features still can have Blender corresponding feature (or almost), and that some tricks can be avoided during I/O (for example multi object animation using track names...).

  5. A new action has been added to #SHAPES 5.10 to convert in-between shapes to a shape sequence for export to a game engine. This allows for better manual control of the blending when working with in-betweens. #maya #maya3d #rigtip

  6. In #SHAPES 5.10 we added a preference setting to define a custom prefix/suffix when splitting target shapes. This also applies to extracting split region maps. #maya #maya3d #rigtip

  7. Latest changes in #SHAPES version 5.10:

    - Existing licenses need updating.
    - Minimum supported Maya version is 2020.
    - Includes and requires the new weightDriver 4.0 node. Changes to the RBF algorithm might break compatibility with existing setups. Please keep that in mind when updating.
