  1. Here's a video review of the #LEGO #pinball 11374 set.

Genuine fun for a toddler who gets to excitedly Hit All The Things (while there might be a ball, or not, who cares, toddler surely doesn't). The final construction is also satisfyingly sturdy. 5/5

Building it was 3/5 stars. Not the most spectacular or technical construction. Final result looks very pretty.

  2. My wonderful sister-in-law brought me excellent gifts from her homeland: multi-pass-pens! All the kids now go: 😎

I've wanted one of these since primary school. Now I own six!

Used it during an ISO audit today. Was awesome. Me taking analog notes in four colours on some printer paper royally annoyed an auditor who had one of those ewaste-in-five-years and share-all-notes-with-US-clouds Remarkable tablets (she was asked not to use it for certain things).

  3. Free review of Swedish traffic easing measures:

Absolute shit. Blond woman in a Porsche SUV just went over it at speed, nearly hitting me but not even realising it as she was on her phone.

One star ⭐️ (as I do like the blue and yellow colour scheme, IKEA for the win)

Update: on further thought I'll downgrade this to zero stars as it actually does slowdown people on bikes and with babystrollers.

  4. Climate change is increasing both the geographical range & seasonal abundance of ticks.

If you enjoy parklands you will encounter ticks and the Borrelia bacteria (Lyme disease) they now often carry. Best way to lower the odds of transferring Borrelia is by removing the tick hours after it attaches.

We have a LOT of ticks here and I've tried many tools. This Lifesystems one is the first perfect one: cheap & reliable.

  5. #review! We bought these pretty little espresso cups in a local secondhand store. The stone has a perfect *clingueee* sound, the colorful stripes allure to it being some 1990s futuristic #train foodware, and they simply have the right size.

4/5 stars as we only found two. If anyone knows where to get another two I'll happily upgrade to five ⭐️.

  6. Review!

The SKS Airworx 10.0 floor pump with gauge. I've had one for a decade and use it for our bikes & random other stuff.

There's probably better models but at 30 to 40 euro it's an amazing deal. It just works. Reliable to >8 bar (I don't need more).

With a bit of care parts (all replaceable) last a long time of intense use.

The pumphead is the same as the one on our public bike maintenance stand (mastodon.online/@Pepijn/108245) and is flexible & durable.

  7. Review time!

Back in around 2009 the #Roomba 500 we bought was a sleek looking all-white futuristic disk. We were sooo careful with it.

15 years in it seems the more Roomba ages, the less delicate its appearance.

Turns out these things truly are not only constructed with the operational controls of a drunk golden retriever, but also come with the mechanical strength of one.

It's also easy to maintain and repair.

  8. Review time! I just realized my printer is old enough to date any IBM 486 based PC.

It's a #Brother #DCP-7040 laser printer-scanner-copier. Manufactured in early 2009 and bought for me in May that year.

While these days I only print the occasional train ticket or short document for people who haven't discovered screens, over the years it has printed 1000s of pages.

It's still going as strong as in 2009.

    5/5 ⭐️ Highly recommended.

edit: 2026 update, still going great.

  9. Really? Tesco are now spamming asking for a review of inscrutably selected items from my food shop. #ReviewAllTheThings
