Cisco, światowy lider technologiczny, ogłasza nową inicjatywę „Resilient Infrastructure”, która ma pomóc firmom i administracji publicznej bezpiecznie zmodernizować fundamenty ich działalności.
Problem jest poważniejszy, niż mogłoby się wydawać na pierwszy rzut oka. Raport „Update Critical”, na który powołuje się Cisco, wskazuje, że niemal połowa globalnej infrastruktury sieciowej generuje tzw. dług technologiczny. Urządzenia typu End-of-Life (EoL) oznaczają w praktyce brak aktualizacji bezpieczeństwa i niezałatane luki, co drastycznie zwiększa podatność organizacji na ataki cyberprzestępców.
Resilient Infrastructure – odpowiedź na globalne wyzwanie
Aby zaradzić tym problemom, Cisco uruchamia inicjatywę Resilient Infrastructure. Jej głównym celem jest ograniczenie powierzchni ataku oraz uproszczenie zarządzania skomplikowanymi środowiskami sieciowymi.
Program zakłada szereg konkretnych działań technicznych i procesowych:
- Wzmocnienie domyślnych zabezpieczeń i eliminację podatnych funkcji w sprzęcie.
- Wdrożenie systemów proaktywnego ostrzegania, które poinformują administratorów, gdy podejmowane przez nich decyzje konfiguracyjne obniżają poziom bezpieczeństwa.
- Przygotowanie na erę postkwantową – dostosowanie infrastruktury do nowych wyzwań kryptograficznych.
„Sieć jest fundamentem dla sztucznej inteligencji i wszystkich nowoczesnych technologii, a jej rola będzie tylko rosła. Jednocześnie rozwój komputerów kwantowych wymaga dostosowania infrastruktury do kryptografii postkwantowej. To proces, którego nie da się przeprowadzić na szybko, dlatego działania trzeba podjąć już teraz” – podkreśla Anthony Grieco, Chief Security & Trust Officer w Cisco.
Europa musi przyspieszyć modernizację
Problem długu technologicznego jest szczególnie istotny w kontekście nowych regulacji unijnych. Dyrektywa NIS2 oraz nadchodzący pakiet Digital Omnibus wymuszają na operatorach infrastruktury krytycznej wyższe standardy zarządzania ryzykiem.
Analizy wskazują, że szczególnie narażony na skutki zadłużenia technologicznego jest sektor ochrony zdrowia. Dlatego też eksperci Cisco rekomendują zmianę modelu inwestycji IT – przesunięcie środków z kosztownego utrzymywania przestarzałych systemów na ich aktywną modernizację.
Chris Gow, Senior Director, EU Public Policy w Cisco, zaznacza: „Europa dąży dziś do zwiększenia odporności swojej infrastruktury krytycznej i przyspieszenia cyfryzacji. Aby te ambicje miały realne podstawy, konieczne jest uporządkowanie fundamentów – modernizacja i eliminacja technologii, które od lat nie spełniają wymogów bezpieczeństwa”.
