  6. @nobodyinperson how are you managing multiple #NixOS #RapberryPi configurations?

I only have a new #FrameWork and legacy #System76, laptops, and my configurations are already divergent. I plan to add my Pi's into the mix, but need a better strategy.

#GitOps doesn't seem to cut it, and, though I know it would work, think I should go for something more idiomatic than #Ansible templates. I've seen some very interesting #NixOps setups, but github.com/NixOS/nixops?tab=re says it's in maintenance mode!?!

  11. At some point in the past year, I had wifi working with #NetBSD on all the #RapberryPi and at the moment am at or slightly over 50% across the model fleet. Which is way better than 0%!

    Oh, yes. 😱

And the (next step in) mass surveillance, I'd say.

I'd like to see a pie chart for the uses of the #RapberryPi by category of use.

  27. @cybervegan the 1s+ is "waiting" time reported by Firefox Dev tools - so basically PHP processing time. And I've got OpCache setup, so the JIT should just be on first load. I even tried "function" mode to force full compile, not traced hot spots.

Then I've been hacking in prints of microtime() to get more granular timings.

#WordPress on the #RapberryPi is 100-200% *slower* than on the VPS.

Every single other page/script/20 year old custom CMS that I run got *faster*!

  30. I guess it’s time to bite the bullet and build that #RapberryPi #Cluster I’ve been threatening to do for years. I guess I’ll start with one Pi 4 and bring more online as I go. PoE for sure.

  35. After I finally got OP25 working on a raspberry pi - I went a little crazy. I wanted a portable version. And here are some attempts of some of my ideas....

I picked up the small SDR dongle from eBay for a few dollars, I didn't like a large dongle hanging out of the Rpi. Turns out it is really really bad, and very heat sensitive.

See description in the pictures for more info, I ran out of characters to fully document 😉

  43. Spot the makeshift fan for my RPi3 - sudden high CPU and temperature up from normal 50°c to 80°c ... Irony my new stack case with built in fan arrives today!!
