I’m so excited to find this book at my local bookstore, "Not Your founding Father: how a non-binary minister became America’s most revolutionary radical" about the Quaker known as “the Public Universal Friends.” Can’t wait to read it and share with my students in my class “Intro to Quakerism.”

This text is a follow-up and companion of the book, "Resisting Empire: Revelation as Resistance" and offers a number of practical insights for communities looking to build spiritual resilience in the face of today's injustices. (2/2)

Description:
The Two Liturgies is a deep dive into the ways that we as humans are shaped by a broad range of "liturgies" in our world. Drawing on insights from the Book of Revelation as a text of resistance to empire, Quaker practice, and the current political climate in the U.S., this pamphlet seeks to inspire Friends into authentic resistance through liturgies of love and libration. Here's a link but no pre-order is out just yet (will share when it is). You can see what other titles have already been published.

The new issue of Quaker Studies is here! It's been a bit of an adventure moving to a new publisher, but we're now live online with book reviews, research notes on early Quakers and print culture, and 4 research articles covering female Friends and 18th century poetry, British Quakers and the First World War in Vienna, Quakers and the campaign against compulsory military training in New Zealand, and George Fox the Younger. https://quakerstudies.openlibhums.org/issue/1273/info/

The new issue of #Quaker Studies is out, including articles on John Woolman, power and powerlessness in Quaker theology, and a review of The Quaker World. My personal contribution was mainly limited to writing a brief editorial (Rebecca Wynter and I are co-editors and take turns).
