  1. @bascule "Made you look". Comparative FFI study this AM. I had reason to examine #PyCA #cryptography after reading @filippo and seeing it used #CFFI, not #Cython, and Rust-ified its underlying #OpenSSL API exposure with #C linkage using #Rust #unsafe blocks. Go figure. I just use #libsodium for most things because it ROCKS.

"...we will no longer require OpenSSL implementations for new functionality."

    Let that message sink in.

I'm using OpenSsl from #Rustlang , but only by calling its main program as a process. The performance is more than good enough for now.

Also I've become quite fond of #pyca for its X.509 support.

So I'll keep a close eye on pyca's next steps.

  11. Ah, the riveting saga of #OpenSSL for pyca/cryptography: an epic tale of endless #documentation and mind-numbing #jargon. 🙄🔍 We've distilled it to the basics: endless buzzwords, cryptic updates, and a desperate plea for both #security and sanity. 🥱🔒
