This is happening behind-the-scenes and you won't hear about it from corporate media. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, now basically an arm of the Trump administration, is cutting loose NPR completely because Trump hates the content on NPR.

Now, I listen to NPR regularly, and have to say that it is pretty benign. I was frustrated with its lack of hard news coverage many times over the last few years. To say that NPR and PBS are "monsters" and biased, (as Trump has said) is ridiculous.

Sadly, I don't see anyone in the US standing up for public media.

Six months after the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. and Radio-Canada scaled back its use of the social media site X, the #PublicBroadcaster says it will mostly remain off

"The audience and engagement that we get from X is small. Among our #SocialMedia platforms, X is among the smallest sources of traffic," he told The Canadian Press when asked why it hasn't fully returned.

Still no #TwitterExodus, but another #PublicBroadcaster leaving: Swedish #SverigeRadio quits #Twitter. A reason stated, is that it simply "has become less important to us" & "only 7% of Swedes are daily on Twitter".
#ElonMusk wasn't the reason for leaving, but for evaluating their attitude towards Twitter.

Other than #NPR, #PBS and #CBC they're not pausing their activity on Twitter, but really leaving. Again no word about #Mastodon/#Fediverse, though.
