This is happening behind-the-scenes and you won't hear about it from corporate media. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, now basically an arm of the Trump administration, is cutting loose NPR completely because Trump hates the content on NPR.
Now, I listen to NPR regularly, and have to say that it is pretty benign. I was frustrated with its lack of hard news coverage many times over the last few years. To say that NPR and PBS are "monsters" and biased, (as Trump has said) is ridiculous.
Sadly, I don't see anyone in the US standing up for public media.

4th) an economic atomic bomb

An intelligent, rational response to tariffs on oil and gas and subsequent layoffs would be a massive investment in public education and reskilling of o&g workers and massive public investment in:
1) clean energy
2) public transport
3) electrificationThe skills transfer very naturally. If the US tariffs force our O&G to wind down, then take that and wind up clean industry!

They just ran a short news story about impacts of tariffs on Atlantic Canada and it dawned on me.
This could be the end of our paper mill in #PortAlberni.
It is the last one on VI that has operated continuously without significant curtailment since the 1950s. It was one of 4 huge paper operations.
It is owned by Domtar and Paper Excellence. Last I heard it sells all its paper to the USA.

#ElonMusk wasn't the reason for leaving, but for evaluating their attitude towards Twitter.
