I've just spent several hours trying to get a Brother QL-500 label printer working with Linux. I have failed. Fuck all #printers .

It's not even working with the configuration I managed to get working (with support from the driver authors) last time I tried using this damn thing.

Last weeks at work were busy with some ugly break fix stuff. This morning a ticket for a printer issue accidentally got sent to our queue (printers are general IT not Data Engineers) and I quickly remembered how much I like my job. #printerssuck

I've gotten new toner for my Xerox Phaser 6600 and not of the official brand (which costs approx. 10 times the price). My printer insists that the toner is invalid (a euphemisms for "we don't make a profit from this") and does not want to print. Are there any ways to bypass this? #technofeudalism #printerssuck #jailbreak

#technofeudalism in a nut shell. HP wants you to start renting their printers, paying a monthly subscription fee, instead of just owning the printer. If you decide to opt out before the two years minimum, you will have to pay an extra high fee.
